The final countdown....

Sorry for the delay in blogging around here, the internet has been acting up in the Dube household!

The final countdown is upon us!  I only have 5 more shifts left at work, crammed into 6 days this upcoming weekend through Wed of next week.  We have been busy bees around here getting all the last minute things done like hanging pictures and curtains, putting together pack'n'plays and swings, installing carseat bases, stocking up on batteries and most importantly, sweeping the garage!  Just kidding, but this was part of my list of things I wanted to get done this past weekend!  Mike def thinks I've gone off the deep end, but the list of things I want to get done or have been meaning to get done seems never ending and I know I won't have the time to do it after!  The babies room is all set to go and bags have begun to be packed.  With everything set, we are more and more anxious for the day to get here!  Bella seems to curious about all these new things set up around the house but overall has been pretty good about leaving things alone.  She does like to come up to the nursery and lay down when we are doing things in there so I think she is already taking her stance of protection.  Mew has taken to laying in the stroller to which I am trying to put a quick end to!!  I've only caught him twice, but those cats are stubborn things!

Here's a peek of the nursery set up:

If you're into the medical detail, continue reading.  Not that there is anything gory, but if you're not, then stop here!

At my last check which was last Monday I was 1/2cm dilated and 50% effaced so we have very slight progress towards going into labor but not much.  The baby is already in position and sitting very low so he felt this would probably further dilate me by this weeks check which is tomorrow.  I have not really had any contractions that I know of, but it's hard when you don't know what to expect.  I have been getting some tightness and pressure across my stomach but I don't know if they qualify as Braxton Hicks or not?!?!  So tomorrow, we'll really know where we stand.

I never posted some pics from the Vineyard so here are a few!  We really had a great time- Bella loved swimming in the ocean!  We had some really beautiful beach days!  A few not so great days for our shopping!  Some delicious lobster!  and lots of relaxation!  We stocked up on some Black Dog/MV gear for the baby and we're already planning how great next year will be with an almost 1 year old!!! (minus having to tote all the baby gear over there!)  I also can't remember if I mentioned... but Sue and Paul got engaged while we were in the Vineyard!  So we have some really exciting things to look forward to next year!  Congrats to Sue and Paul!  We're so happy for you!  :)

She's a natural!!

Best buds playing around

Date night (just about 36 weeks)

Engaged!!!!!!!!

Beautiful day at Gay Head!

Mom, Dee, Sue and I before heading out at the end of the week

One last note..... I just want to remind everyone to get their votes in on how much they think Baby Dube will weigh!  It could be anytime now!!!!!
