One of the first rookie mistakes we made was taking our first walk down the street and forgetting the binkie... Of course, multiple neighbors stopped us along the way to meet the new addition, especially after watching Mike and I parade up and down the street for the entire week prior, often multiple times a day in an attempt to get labor rolling. Moira is a fan of the binkie and therefore the binkie will never be forgotten again...

Our second rookie mistake came with Moira's first bath... Now seeing as I deal with babies on a daily basis at work, you would have thought I would know better... and I did! I prepared the tub, making sure the water temp was just right. I dumped and then added and then dumped the water to try to get the right height. I laid out the towels, wash cloths, soap/shampoo... I was ready to go! Prepared!
We proceeded to undiaper her and just as I was about to place her in the tub, Mike asks: "Are you suuuuure that the water height is ok? I think we should take some out" I responded "ok, pour a little out". Well, in a matter of seconds, before Mike could even reach to dump some water, I had an explosion on my white shirt. Mike and I had quite the laugh and photo-op.... and lesson learned!
